Abstract

This article examines the problems of legal regulation of the liability of digital platforms for violations of consumer rights in e-commerce in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Although the current legislation has already established a basic regulatory framework for electronic commerce, it still does not fully regulate the specific features of digital platforms as independent actors in the digital marketplace. Among these problems are the uncertainty in the allocation of liability between the platform and the seller, the insufficient effectiveness of refund mechanisms, the absence of preventive measures against the distribution of illegal and dangerous goods, as well as the vulnerability of users’ personal data. Based on the analysis of these issues, the author conducted a legal analysis and proposed measures aimed at improving the regulatory framework for digital platforms and enhancing the protection of consumer rights.
