This article analyzes the essence of professional and social competencies, the factors influencing their formation, and their interrelation in the process of activity from a sociological perspective. The development of society, digital transformation, and the dynamics of the labor market require individuals not only to possess professional knowledge and skills but also to effectively establish social relations and constructive communication within a team. Therefore, professional competence determines the efficiency of a specialist’s work performance, while social competence ensures his or her adaptation to the social system, communicative potential, and success in teamwork. The study highlights the correlation between these two competencies in professional activity based on sociological theories, empirical observations, and modern management practices, revealing their intrinsic interconnection.
