This article analyzes the role of the volunteer movement in interpersonal relationships and in the life of society, important features of the volunteer movement, the concept of volonteurism, the basic principles of volonteurism activity, age limits for participation in the volonteur movement and types of volonteurism, initial points of view and theories on participation of people in volonteurism movements. Analyzing the goals and objectives of volunteer activities, the tasks of volunteer activities are to provide assistance to individuals and legal entities, society as a whole, to protect the environment, to participate in socially significant activities with the consent of their organizers, to form a civil point of view, self-organization in society, social responsibility, solidarity, mutual assistance and feelings of compassion. The types of volunteer activities for organizations and human assistance and the views of a number of scientists aimed at studying volunteer actions have been analyzed.
