THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN THE CONTEXT OF REFORMS

Abstract

The current constantly and dynamically changing world requires from modern youth not only certain knowledge and channels of its transmission, but also creative, critical and independent thinking. Without it, it is impossible to build an innovative, knowledge-based (knowledge economy) and responsive to the new challenges of the economy, which means a breakthrough that is needed in the world of global competition. The government of the country streses that this is main aim of Uzbekistan. We can not achieve this aim within the frames of current system of education. New system must give not only certain knowledge (this is aim of the classical education), but also important soft skills that are necessary for competitive and adaptive existence in the future world. In this regard, based on the analysis of approaches of foreign and Russian scientists, the author reflects on what should be today's education and upbringing, what advanced pedagogical technologies should be used to form creative thinking.The article also specifically examines the education situation in Uzbekistan and possibly ways of its change.
