Shubhasiz, Afrika inson va tabiiy resurslarga boy, ammo u rivojlanmagan, qashshoq va qoloq mintaqa bo‘lib qolmoqda. Ushbu paradoksni keltirib chiqaruvchi ko‘plab omillar mavjud. Ushbu maqolada Afrikadagi rivojlanmaslikning mohiyati, asosiy sabablari va oqibatlarini muhokama qiladi. Afrikadagi rivojlanmaslik inqirozi va uning natijalari Afrikaning rivojlanish intilishlariga jiddiy ta’sir qiladi. Shu bilan birga, muammoni hal qilishga yordam beradigan ba’zi yechimlar taklif etishga harakat qilingan. Maqolada ta’kidlanishicha, agar taklif etilgan yechimlar qat’iy amalga oshirilsa, Afrika rivojlanib, rivojlangan davlatlar qatoriga qo‘shilishi mumkin.
