Abstract

This article is devoted to the research of the organization of self-study of students of oil and gas universities in terms of professional competence development. In reliance upon a comparative analysis of the concept of “self-study” concept from a methodological point of view, the article determines the ways to organize students’ self-study with the account of the specifics of education process in engineering universities and presents conclusions about the role of self-study in the professional competence development.
