DEVELOPING CADETS’ COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN TEACHING SPEAKING

Abstract

This article is devoted to the ways of raising cadets’ communicative competence while teaching speaking. The main focus is exploring the ways of how communicative competence can be developed through doing different speaking oriented tasks within the framework of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). A number of scholars’ views on the role of speaking as the priority skill in developing communicative competence is brought forward to showcase the essential place speaking holds in communication. The article also emphasizes the role of a teacher as facilitator and creator of comfortable atmosphere in the classroom which is quite important for effective language acquisition of cadets.
