Abstract

A note-taking skill is one of the highly demanding skills for students who are learning English as a second or foreign language for academic purposes. Note-taking is an effective method in listening comprehension and integrating writing skills. The purpose of this article is to discuss the most effective ways of promoting students' note-taking skills through authentic listening materials. TED Talks are one of excellent tools for developing students' listening comprehension and at the same time to practise taking notes in class.
