GENESIS OF THE IMAGE OF MAJNUN AND ITS INTERPRETATION IN THE LYRICS OF NAVOI

The traditions of the emergence and interpretation of the image of Majnun in Eastern classical literature cover long historical periods. No matter how complex its origins as an artistic image, its socio-philosophical essence is incredibly deep and majestic. This article examines the genesis of the image of Majnun and the traditions of its interpretation in Eastern literature, the features of the expression of the image in the poetry of Alisher Navoi, the changes that occurred in the process of transformation in classical poetry. At the same time, Navoi’s poetry reveals new interpretations of the image-symbol of Majnun.
