Periodontal yallig'lanishlarni erta aniqlash va davolash samaradorligini oshirishning yangi usullarini izlash zamonaviy stomatologiyaning dolzarb vazifalaridan biridir. Periodontal to'qimalarda yallig'lanish kasalliklari tishlarning yo'qolishiga, og'iz bo'shlig'ida surunkali infektsiya o'choqlarining paydo bo'lishiga, organizmning reaktivligini pasayishiga, mikrobial sezgirlikka va allergik holatlarning rivojlanishiga olib keladi. Ushbu patologik jarayon qat'iy cheklangan patologiya emas, lekin, qoida tariqasida, jiddiyroq tizimli kasalliklarning namoyon bo'lishidan biridir. Inson sog'lig'ining umumiy holati, hayot sifati, uning ijtimoiy-ruhiy holati va hatto jamiyatdagi roli zarar ko'rmoqda.
