Zamonaviy turmush sharoiti, ovqatlanish odatlari va kam harakatsizlik, semizlik, qandli diabet, dislipidemiya va jigarning noalkogolli yog‘ xastaligining sezilarli darajada oshishiga olib keldi va bu ko‘rsatkichlar barqaror o‘sib bormoqda, bu bizga jigarning noalkogolli yog‘ xastaligigining XXI asrda tibbiyot hamjamiyatining eng dolzarb muammolaridan ekanligini ko‘rsatadi. Jigarning noalkogolli yog‘ xastaligigining etiologiyasi, tarqalishi, patogenezi,uning asosiy shakllari, xavf omillari haqidagi zamonaviy g‘oyalar bayon etilgan.
