Periodontal yallig'lanish kasalliklarining etiologiyasi, umumlashtirilishi va surunkalilashuvida hal qiluvchi ma'nolardan biri og'iz bo'shlig'i mikroflorasining turlari va miqdoriy tarkibining buzilishi, periodontal to'qimalarning shikastlanishi ko'rinishini, klinik ko'rinishini va rivojlanishini aniqlashdir. Periodontal kasalliklarni davolashda kimyoviy preparatlardan asossiz va nazoratsiz foydalanish antibakterial terapiyaga chidamli shtammlarning shakllanishiga olib keladi. Keng antibakterial spektrga ega va mikroblarga qarshilik ko'rsatmaydigan antiseptik preparatlarni qo'llash orqali oldini olish mumkin, masalan, "Eludrill", "Parodium" va "Elgidium" preparatning uzoq cho'kishi bilan tavsiflanadi.
