THE FEMALE BODY BETWEEN MEDICINE AND MORALITY: A CLINICAL-CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF AESTHETIC GYNECOLOGY

This study explores the phenomenon of aesthetic gynecology in two socio-cultural contexts — Russia and Egypt. Through a comparative analysis, it examines the medical, ethical, legal, and psychological dimensions of procedures such as labiaplasty, hymenoplasty, and laser rejuvenation. The research reveals that while Russia is gradually integrating aesthetic gynecology into evidence-based medicine and professional regulation, Egypt demonstrates high demand driven primarily by religious and cultural norms. The study emphasizes the need for clear clinical standards, physician training, and informed patient counseling to balance medical goals with ethical responsibility. The paper also highlights the role of societal expectations and commercial pressure in shaping women's choices, making aesthetic gynecology not only a clinical but also a deeply cultural practice.
