Ушбу мақолада илк ўрта асрларга тегишли Ўрта Осиё тангаларининг умумий тавсифи ва тарихий манба сифатида ўрганилишига аҳамият берилган. Нумизматик материалларга асосланиб, Турк хоқонлиги шу жумладан, Ғарбий Турк хоқонлиги ва унинг вассал воҳа хукмдорликларининг давлатчилик, бошқарув, унвон ва атамалар таҳлил қилинган. Тангашунослик изланишларида кўпроқ тангаларнинг қайси ҳудудалардан топилиши, танга ёзувларининг ўқилиши, иконографияси ва рамзий белгиларига эътибор қаратилган бўлиб, мақолада тангаларнинг минтақа халқлари давлатчилиги тарихини ёритишдаги ўрнига эътибор берилган.
