This article explores the current level of application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the process of library collection development, the challenges encountered, and the future development prospects of this technology. The process of library collection development is being optimized through the use of the latest technological achievements, and artificial intelligence is bringing new approaches to this field. The phenomenon of artificial intelligence is considered a key attribute in the transition from a modern information society to a new global knowledge society. The results achieved through its application in various fields of science, technology, and national economy generate great hope for the future prospects of this technology. In the modern information society, libraries, which play a key communicative role, require optimal collection development that meets the complex demands of the global information age while fulfilling their historically established social functions (science, information, culture, education, and upbringing). The article discusses the impact of artificial intelligence on the proper selection and improvement of information resources that make up library collections, potential problems with its implementation, and future development directions.
