COGNITIVE ANALYSIS OF NATIONAL COLORING IN LITERARY TRANSLATION

Abstract

Literary translation is the most active form of literary communication, important for any national literature. Since foreign language literature has the greatest influence in translations, issues of translatability and their quality have become crucial in assessing the literary process in a particular country. The national color can be considered the totality of the characteristic features of a nation, nationality, its originality, reflected in works of art. National color is a very broad concept. It covers the peculiar national characteristics of the people, their history and life. In the science of translation, contextual meaning is of particular concern. Contextual meanings arise in the process of using words in speech, depending on the environment, and are realized under the influence of a narrow, wide and extra-linguistic context. This article analyzes the difficulties of translating national color in literary translation.
