FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS OF SPEECH IN ENGLISH

This article is devoted to the analysis of phraseological units used in English speech today. In English linguistics, and in world linguistics in general, special attention is paid to the semantic interpretation of colloquial phraseology. The methodological features of the phrases were also addressed during the writing of the article, as well as the analysis of the homonyms, synonyms, contradictions and polysemy of spoken phraseologies. The functional features of phraseological units were analyzed and their expression in artistic interpretation was highlighted. The main issues were also the coverage of the functional features of English colloquial phraseology and the description of their aspects in the text, as well as the coverage of issues of modern English phraseology.
