Uzbek scholar and translation theorist Professor Gaybulla Salomov’s contribution to the development of translation theory as a science in Uzbekistan is invaluable. The scholar has published a number of monographs and textbooks on the theory and practice of translation. Nowadays, his concept of translation theory, like the works of A.V. Fedorov, I. Kashkin and G. Gachechiladze, are the "classics" of translation studies.
In the article, the author discusses G. Salomov’s monograph “Language and Translation” and its importance and current status in Uzbek translation studies.
