SOCIOLOGICAL THEORETICAL APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF MARITAL RELATIONS

This article examines the main sociological theoretical approaches to the study of familymarriage relations and explores their importance in the study of the institution of the family. Family
relationships have been studied based on symbolic interactionism, structural functionalism, conflict
theory, and other approaches. These theories allow the study of various aspects of family-marriage
relations, ensuring the stability of society, continuity between generations, understanding gender
relations, understanding divorces and its consequences, studying socio-economic problems in the
family, observing social changes, studying family in the context of global changes. Currently, the
study of family-marriage relations and sociological research are relevant in Uzbekistan. For this
reason, the author has also resorted to these approaches in the study of theoretical aspects of changes
in family relationships.
