The article says that the Uzbek people have always considered public opinion in society and its first link in the mahalla, which in turn is the views, ideas, views and perceptions of the public, the majority of the population in relation to events and social processes. The essence and content of public control in Uzbekistan, its object, historical foundations, historical traditions of the mahalla, oriental democratic values based on the primacy of public opinion, the collective way of life, neighborliness, the role of women and men in society are described. It also discusses the collective way of life inherent in our national mentality, the role of the system of neighborliness and interaction, the specificity of public control in today's globalization and democratic changes.
