LEGAL CULTURE IN THE INTERPRETATION OF THE SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH

The article analyzes the similarities and differences between the sociology of law and the science of law, the legal culture, and the essence of approaches to the research of legal consciousness.The main attention is paid to various views, rationales and interpretations of the concept of legal culture, which are still the subject of controversy among lawyers and sociologists. Most importantly, thereis emphasized that sociology focuses on the study of the social functions of law, the consequences of the adoption of legal norms and their implementation in society and the understanding of law as a social institution that performs certain functions in society. Accordingly, the author highlights the theoretical, empirical and critical components of the sociology of law.
