Abstract

The article examines the role of regional integration in promoting the social development of Central Asian states. The relevance of the study stems from the growing interdependence among the countries of the region, the need to address common socio-economic, environmental, and demographic challenges, and the transformation of the regional system of international relations. Regional integration is analysed as a factor in improving public welfare, developing human capital, expanding educational and cultural exchanges, strengthening social resilience, and fostering shared regional interests. The article substantiates the argument that sustainable social development in Central Asia depends on the ability of states to translate political agreements and economic projects into tangible social outcomes. It concludes that there is a need to move beyond a predominantly interstate understanding of integration towards a more comprehensive model that incorporates societal institutions, the academic and educational community, business circles, and young people.
