SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN THE STATE CIVIL SERVICE

The article covers the issues of conflict of interest in the state civil service, its theoretical
aspects and the fight against it. In particular, the approaches of scientists to the conflict of interest,
contradictions arising in the course of performing official powers (duties), as well as the issues of the
struggle between personal and public motivations are sociologically revealed. The legal norms of the
local (republican) and foreign (Anglo-Saxon and Romano-Germanic) models in this area, their
sociological aspects and distinctive properties are analyzed. The specified issues are covered in
conjunction with the data of official sources and questionnaires, and corresponding proposals for
improving the area are put forward.
