ABU KHAMID GHAZALI FROM IRAN (Excerpt from the book “Islamic Mysticism: A Short History”)
Abstract
The presented text is an excerpt from the Uzbek edition of the book of the orientalist, Islamic scholar, professor at the University of Michigan (USA) Alexander Knysh “Islamic Mysticism: A Short History”. The book was translated by Doctor of Philosophy Kodirkul Ruzmatzoda. As the result of many years of work, the translation of this book into the Uzbek language is associated with the desire to acquaint the Uzbek reader with the history and philosophy of Sufism, its religious and at the same time secular essence, open new horizons and awaken the unique spiritual and educational features that are dormant in our historical consciousness. Sufism was of world importance, had a great influence on Islamic philosophy and theology from the 7th-8th centuries. The purpose of presenting in our journal the topic dedicated to the theologian Abu Hamid Ghazali is to study the ideological foundations of the cultural process associated with the Renaissance in Central Asia in the Early Middle Ages through a series of translations.
