READING CULTURE IN MODERN LIFE OF UZBEKISTAN

In the article, the author conducts a comparative analysis of printed and electronic books. Drawing on the results of sociological surveys carried out in various countries, the author emphasizes the advantages of paper publications as a traditional reading medium. Despite the clear benefits of e-books, such as ease of use, compactness, and relative cost-effectiveness, attention is drawn to their drawbacks - particularly their negative impact on eyesight and the reduced level of aesthetic appreciation. In conclusion, the author formulates possible solutions to the identified problem.
