Abstract

The article explores the relationship between traditionalism and modernity in the context of the formation and development of consumer culture in society. The author emphasizes that traditions play a key role in integrating innovations and solving problems, saving energy and resources. However, the crisis of customs and values has a negative impact on the development of consumer culture. The importance of traditions for the preservation of knowledge and technology for future generations and their role in social development are analyzed. In addition, the article covers modern consumer culture, the development of various views and theories about it, as well as the ordering of the norms of traditional culture in the context of sociocultural relations. The results of the study will help to better understand the role of traditions and consumer culture in modern society and their significance for the individual and social relations.
