This scientific study investigates the relationship between post-stroke speech disorders and the neurological status of patients as a factor influencing speech function. The research was conducted between 2021 and 2024 at the multidisciplinary clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy and involved 110 patients diagnosed with aphasia following a stroke. The overall neurological condition of the patients was assessed using the NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), while speech function was evaluated using a specially modified speech therapy (logopedic) scale. Statistical analysis revealed a significant inverse correlation between increasing NIHSS scores and decreasing speech therapy scores (r = –0.6 to –0.8, P<0.01), indicating that speech function deteriorates as stroke severity increases. Furthermore, it was established that speech rehabilitation was more effective in patients with mild strokes, whereas recovery was slower in those with more severe conditions. The findings underscore the importance of a comprehensive and individualized approach to the assessment and rehabilitation of speech disorders in post-stroke patients.
