Cervical myelopathy (CM) is a progressive neurological disorder caused by spinal cord compression in the cervical spine. The pathophysiology of CM is complex and involves a cascade of events such as spinal cord compression, ischemia, inflammation, and neurodegeneration, leading to damage to neurons and glial cells. Understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms of cervical myelopathy, as well as the use of modern neuroimaging and neurophysiological diagnostic methods, is crucial for early detection, differential diagnosis and development of effective treatment strategies aimed at preventing disease progression and improving the quality of life of patients.
