E.E. BERTELS – RESEARCHER OF NAVOI’S CREATIVITY

The article analyzes the "Article about Navoi and Oriental Literature" by E.E.Bertels (1881-1957), one of the orientalists who deeply studied Uzbek classical literature and highly appreciated the work of Alisher Navoi.
The purpose of the article is to give a comparative overview of the work of Alisher Navoi in Russian oriental studies of the twentieth century in connection with cultural, literary, historical and social processes, as well as to give an objective assessment of the literary and aesthetic views of Russian scientists. The objectives of the research are to identify the stages of the formation of interest and a scientific approach to the work of Alisher Navoi in Russian literature and to study the main topics and problems of interest to Russian orientalists.
The study of Navoi's work in Russian oriental studies of the twentieth century has once again proved that his works are invaluable not only for the Uzbek people, but also for world culture and literature.
