Острый гнойный одонтогенный периостит челюстей представляет актуальную проблему в стоматологии и челюстно-лицевой хирургии. Среди детей с острыми одонтогенными воспалительными процессами челюстно-лицевой области значительную часть составляют больные c гнойным одонтогенным оститом. В настоящей статье приведен литературный обзор по этиологическим и патогенетическим механизмам развития данного заболевания, а также методов диагности и современной тактики лечения больных с данной патологией.
