Purpose: to study the effectiveness of the application of the anti-adhesive coating "Heprocel" from cellulose derivatives in an experimental model of the formation of an adhesive process in the abdominal cavity.
Methods. The experiments were carried out on the basis of the State Institution “RSNPMTSH named after acad. V. Vakhidov ", Department of Experimental Surgery in 2020. White outbred rats in the amount of 30 individuals were used as experimental animals. A total of 2 series of experiments were performed in the control and experimental groups. In the control group of animals, after injury of the peritoneum, the laparotomic wound was sutured in layers with a continuous 4/0 prolene suture. In the index group of animals, the wound surface was covered with Heprocel powder, which after some time after contact with tissue fluid turned into a gel coating tightly fixed to the wound surface.
Results. The formation of a gel film in the absence of blood cellular elements made it possible to achieve resorption of the coating without an apparent cellular inflammatory reaction. The formation of adhesions is significantly prevented, with the greatest effect we were able to trace in the case of
hollow organs (ileocaecal zone). Unlike animals in the control group, deformation of the mesentery did not lead to gross deformities with the development of signs of intestinal obstruction. The biodegradation process is not accompanied by an inflammatory reaction of tissues and effusion in the
abdominal cavity. The wound heals at the usual time. The behavior of animals and their condition does not undergo significant changes. The weight gain of animals begins as early as 14 days after the operation.
Conclusion. The use of the hemostatic coating "Heprocel" made from cellulose derivatives allows to solve two problems when performing operative treatment on the abdominal organs: to perform sparing local hemostasis, and also to prevent the formation of a coarse adhesive process in the
abdominal cavity.
