Настоящая статья посвящена обзору некоторых исследований, проведенных в рамках анализа отбывания наказания в виде лишения свободы молодыми женщинами и процесса родов, в том числе воздействия применения оков и кандалов на здоровье несовершеннолетних правонарушителей женского пола. В частности, рассмотрены негативное влияние содержания в кандалах в ходе родов, а также процесс отбирания новорожденных и малолетних детей после родов вследствие невозможности совместного отбывания наказания в местах содержания. Автором по итогам научного обзора делается вывод о том, что процесс принятия родов молодых матерей в атмосфере излишней строгости, приносит огромные моральные страдания и не оставляет для матерей возможности нахождения со своим ребенком, что в конечном счете, негативно сказывается на процессе исправления.
