This article is devoted to the institution of consular immunities and privileges, its characteristic features at the present stage. It considers: the concept and various theories regarding to consular immunities and privileges; the international legal foundations of consular immunities and privileges; the legal foundations of the institution of consular immunities and privileges in the Republic of Uzbekistan; the classification of consular immunities and privileges; the volume and nature of personal privileges and immunities of consular officials. Have been made, theoretical, legal, practical suggestions and recommendations for the further improvement of the institution of consular immunities and privileges.
