DEVELOPING THE LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR ISLAMIC FINANCE IN UZBEKISTAN: ISSUES AND CHALLENGES

Recently the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan admitted its concern for introducing Islamic financial services in the country. But the process of developing the legal framework for operation of Islamic financial institutions is going slowly. This article is an attempt by the author to discuss issues and formulate recommendations for creating legal and regulatory framework for Islamic finance in Uzbekistan
