THE ORIGIN OF CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR VIOLATING OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY RULES AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE

Abstract

This article analyzes the origin, legal nature, and practical significance of criminal liability for violation of occupational safety rules. It examines the historical development of the occupational safety institution, relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Labour Code, the Law “On Occupational Safety,” and Article 257 of the Criminal Code. Based on workplace accident statistics, the article substantiates the need to ensure occupational safety, strengthen employers’ responsibility, and improve criminal law measures.
