ILLEGAL MIGRATION AND TRANSNATIONAL CRIME: IMPROVEMENT OF MECHANISMS OF INTERNATIONAL LEGAL COOPERATION

This article examines the phenomenon of irregular migration as a transnational threat from both theoretical and practical perspectives. In the context of globalization, the relative openness of state borders, socio-economic inequalities, armed conflicts, and environmental crises contribute to the growth of irregular migration flows. The study first explores theoretical concepts of irregular migration and scholarly approaches to its classification as a transnational threat. It then analyzes practical aspects, including mechanisms of regional and international cooperation, legal agreements between states, migration management practices, and existing challenges. Particular attention is paid to the activities of international organizations (UN, ILO, EU, etc.) and Uzbekistan’s national policy in this sphere. The author proposes a comprehensive approach to combating irregular migration based on interstate information exchange, strengthening the legal framework, and safeguarding human rights
