Abstract

This article analyzes the current state, challenges, and the necessity for improvement in national legislation concerning the civil law regulation of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and smart contracts. As key components of the digital economy, DLT and smart contracts are examined in terms of how they are being adopted by the legal system, the extent to which existing laws cover these technologies, and the advantages and disadvantages of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan when compared to international experience.
