PROSECUTOR - AS A PROTOTYPE OF MUKHTASIB (USING THE EXAMPLE OF WORKING WITH CITIZEN’S APPEALS)

This article examines the emergence, tasks, and evolution of the position of the mukhtasib during the Middle ages. It analyzes historical facts about the mukhtasib institution through the lens of scientific interpretations. The author proposes a hypothesis that the medieval mukhtasib could be compared to the modern-day prosecutor’s office. The article draws conclusions based on the presented opinions, scientific sources, and research conducted by scholars.
