ABSTRACT

The article deals with the concept of proposition, which is one of the problematic and debatable issues in the linguistics of the twentieth century, its scientific research and description. In linguistics, works, studies and their important results related to the concept of a sentence, the structure of a sentence and its description are recorded. The author reacted to these opinions and comments from her point of view and came to the appropriate conclusions.

The paper presents specific views on the explanation of the theoretical foundations of the relationship of language and speech units to the statement. Just as units that act as linguistic units but have communicatively meaningful properties that are different from nominative-denotative properties are fixed as predicative units, special opinions are expressed about their propositional structure. On this basis, the sentence was noted as the most minimal of speech derivative constructions and important views were put forward related to the definition of its structural-semantic and pragmatic features.
