 Ushbu maqola terminologiya va ontologiya o‘rtasidagi nazariy va amaliy munosabatlarni tahlil qiladi. Terminologiya ma’lum soha yoki fan doirasida qo‘llaniladigan atamalar tizimi bo‘lib, u ilmiy tushunchalarni nomlash, aniqlash va standartlashtirishga oid masalalar bilan shug‘ullanadi, ontologiya esa ularning konseptual aloqalarini va ierarxik tizimini ifodalaydi, ya’ni ontologiya yordamida terminlar ro‘yhat ko‘rinishida berilmasdan, balki ular ierarxiya, munosabatlar va semantik bog‘lanishlarda joylashadi. Shuning sababli terminologiya va ontologiyaning uyg‘unligi lingvistik tadqiqotlarda, axborot texnologiyalarida, semantik veb va sun’iy intellekt tizimlarida muhim hisoblanadi. Bir so‘z bilan terminologiya “lingvistik asos”, ontologiya esa “konseptual asos”deb hisoblanadi. Tadqiqot metodologiyasiga keladigan bo‘lsak, komparativ tahlil va ilmiy adabiyotlarni qiyosiy o‘rganish usullaridan foydalanildi. Wüster, Cabré, Temmerman, Guarino, Gruber kabi olimlar tomonidan olib borilgan ishlar, va shuningdek, WordNet, OntoLex-Lemon kabi amaliy modellar o‘rganib chiqildi. Natijalar shuni ko‘rsatadiki, terminologiya ontologik tizimlarning lingvistik asosini tashkil etib, konseptual aloqalarni aniqlashda hal qiluvchi rol o‘ynaydi. Ontologiya esa terminlarni tizimlashtirib, ko‘pma’nolilik va sinonimiya kabi muammolarni kamaytiradi. Xulosa sifatida aytish mumkinki, terminologiya va ontologiyaning o‘zaro integratsiyasi nazariy hamda amaliy sohalarda barqaror metodologik asos yaratadi.
