The article analyzes the balance of literary tradition and innovation in the works of Shermuhammad Munis Khorezmi. Traditional elements are seen in his reliance on Navoi’s school, aruz and divan poetics, while innovation appears in his educational, historical, translational and calligraphic activity. The study argues that Munis renewed tradition according to the cultural needs of Khorezm.
