This article analyzes the stratigraphic nature of spatial names in the study of the onomastic picture of the world. The historical layering of place names and their semantic and linguocultural characteristics are examined. The research highlights the role of toponymic units in reflecting historical memory, ethnocultural development, and national identity. Furthermore, the diachronic and synchronic factors of the development of the onomastic system are comparatively analyzed.
