The exploration of coordinated elements, or homogeneous parts, in English has attracted considerable interest within linguistics due to their intricate syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic characteristics. This article presents a summary of contemporary approaches to homogeneous parts in English, emphasizing recent advancements in generative grammar, construction grammar, and functional syntax. Within these frameworks, we investigate the essence of coordination, the significance of semantic interpretation in homogeneous constructions, and the interplay between syntax and discourse in organizing coordinated elements.
