STUDY OF THE ARAL SEA BY RUSSIAN RESEARCHERS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF L.BERG’S EXPEDITION)

The article highlights the study of the Aral Sea by researchers of the Russian Empire using the example of the scientific expedition of L.Berg, carried out at the beginning of the XX century. This expedition is the second special scientific trip organized to the Aral Sea, and it was carried out with the aim of clarifying and updating the results of previous studies. The Aral expedition of L.Berg served to expand scientific knowledge about this sea and use it for practical purposes. The article reveals the scientific and historical significance of the expedition.
