FROM THE HISTORY OF THE ACTIVITY OF THE COMMISSION TO PROVIDE HELP TO THE HUNGRY IN THE CITIES OF TURKISTAN

This article talks about the noticeable contradictory trace left by that socio-political and economic situation at the beginning of the 20th century in Russia and its colonial countries, in particular in Turkistan. About how the people of Turkistan sheltered the population of Russia, who suffered from hunger, how they showed kindness, shared their housing, their last bread and, if necessary, their clothes. This article also analyzes the work of commissions to assist the hungry, created in cities, villages and even mahallas to assist the starving, resettled in Turkistan as a result of famine.
