This article highlights a quarter century of education in our country, the creation of criterial documents in this area, and the effective work of developing a continuing education system. The issues of further optimization of the state educational standards and curricula to improve the quality and effectiveness of the continuous education system and, as a result, the system of evaluation of students' knowledge, skills, qualifications and competencies are analyzed.
