IRRIGATION FACILITIES OF THE ANTIQUE PERIOD IN THE LOWER AMU DARYA REGION

This scientific article analyzes the history of ancient irrigation structures in the historical and cultural centers of the Lower Amu Darya. It reveals the irrigation system, its operating mechanisms, and patterns of use. Based on this analysis, scientifically substantiated and summarized conclusions are drawn. In particular, the historical and cultural centers located in the Southern Aral Sea region are renowned for the irrigation system developed during the antique period. Large canals, hydrotechnical structures, and irrigation ditches were constructed in the southern part of the Amu Darya delta. This system supported agriculture, urban development, and the economic life of the Khorezm and Aral Sea civilizations. Archaeological research reveals the complexity and strategic importance of these irrigation facilities.
