ECOTOURISM IN UZBEKISTAN: CURRENT STATE, POTENTIAL, AND PROSPECTS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The article examines the formation and development of ecotourism in Uzbekistan amid the rapid growth of the national tourism sector. The study explores theoretical interpretations of ecotourism, its core principles, and its role in environmental conservation and community development. Particular attention is given to the economic, social, and ecological impacts of ecotourism, as well as its contribution to sustainable regional development. Based on analytical and survey data, the paper identifies existing challenges, infrastructure limitations, and untapped opportunities, emphasizing the need for an integrated and sustainable ecotourism policy in Uzbekistan.
