RELIGIOUS AND EDUCATIONAL POLICY: FROM STRICT COMBAT TO BROAD TOLERANCE

This article analyzes the large-scale reforms implemented in the religious and educational sphere of Uzbekistan, highlighting the mechanisms of the policy shift from the "fight against extremism" concept (repressive approach) to the "promotion of religious tolerance and enlightenment" paradigm (preventive/inclusive approach). The study examines the internal and external results of this paradigmatic shift based on legal documents. The popular science novelty of the article lies in the explanation that the "enlightenment-tolerance" policy is an integral part of the state strategy, including through the initiatives put forth by the President of Uzbekistan at the UN.
