THE ESSENCE OF REFORMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: ACHIEVEMENTS, SHORTCOMINGS, AND RESULTS

This article notes that the transition of postgraduate education to a single-cycle system has brought the training of highly qualified scientific and teaching staff closer to international requirements and standards. The article also analyzes the effectiveness of measures taken to implement Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-4958 of February 16, 2017, aimed at radically improving and further enhancing the quality and effectiveness of postgraduate education and expanding opportunities for the full development of young people's intellectual potential in research.
